Some girls have lipstick, some have shoes, but for me a dreaaaamy perfume is all I need to instantly feel more put together and ready to take on the day and it got me thinking about my favourite perfumes and my signature scent. I feel like we all end up having one at some point in our lives – a classic is Chanel No.5 for a lot of ladies, or Daisy by Marc Jacobs but there’s just something about them that put me off. Maybe it’s because every girl wears them but I’ve just never felt like me when I wear them; so I thought I would share with you all a run down of my favourite perfumes!
Decadence by Marc Jacobs. I feel like i’m living my Gatsby dream every single time I put this delicious scent on and it’s a scent that I’m known for wearing and I feel just really suits my skin! The bottle is an art deco lover’s muse with a rich green with a gold chain and black tassel attached to a faux snake skin covered lid. Kind of like a hand bag. Striking by appearance and even more so by it’s smell this has got to be hands down my favourite perfume that I have ever come across with hints of sandalwood, jasmine, italian plum and saffron this rich & spicy perfume politely screams sophistication & glamour in a unique way. There’s nothing quite like it on the market in my opinion.
Day time scent
An OG, Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf is a crowd pleaser for obvious reasons. The initial campaigns for it was stunz, the hand grenade packaging that can sound so brutal is made to look so effortlessly chic and the heavenly light floral scent that escapes the bottle when you spritz it isn’t too sweet or sickly like some can often be. I wore this perfume every single day from 16 years old up until I was around 20 years old religiously so it is definitely a long time favourite that I now wear during the days that I’m just bumming around the house or running errands like grocery shopping etc but want to feel a little more put together and fresh.
PS. I also wore Flowerbomb every single day on my very first holiday to Queensland with my boyfriend at 18 years old and even to this day every single time he smells this perfume in particular – on me or anyone else – he always gets hit with memories of our first holiday & if that isn’t the darn cutest thing you’ve ever read then you’re lying to yourself!
A new favourite but an old classic, I have only just discovered my love for the YSL Black Opium line. For Christmas my amazing mum gave me Black Opium Nuit Blanche, a new re-take on the classic that smells extremely similar except a hell of a lot sweeter than the regular Black Opium so if you want something completely different from the original BO then this probably isn’t the one for you but if you like sweeter smelling perfumes that are extremely floral then I would highly recommend checking this out – plus the packaging is so stinkin’ pretty with the glitter! Even when this one hits empty it’s going to be staying on display until I get a refill.
Do you have a signature scent?
Until next time,
Love, Angela xx.
