A Christmas Face

A Christmas Face

Ah December, a social butterfly’s favourite season; full of work Christmas parties, friend’s Christmas parties, family Christmas parties, extended family Christmas parties and of course the annoying few people who go ahead and decide to have their weddings in December.. like I haven’t got enough to do already this month, Susan. Either way, I’m sure you get my point. It can be a little overwhelming but a glass of champagne, a few giggles and some questionable dance moves make the lead up to December 25th is so worth it; and for a makeup lover it is the perfect excuse to beat your mug and go all out until you sparkle like a bauble.

I mean let’s be real here… If i’m going to get absolutely slaughtered at the work Christmas party, I might as well look like a festive queen while i’m at it.

Unfortunately, as i’ve said before and I’m probably, most likely, definitely going to continue sooking about is that Christmas falls in Summer for us Aussies, which means that I would like to keep my makeup us minimal as possible to let my skin breathe yet still be as glam as possible, and that’s what this is; a full glam look with minimal products and lasting power so you can look like a total 10 while dancing like a wanker to Mariah Carey till the crack of dawn.

Christmas Makeup - Base Products

…Starting with the base.

To prep my skin, I use my new holy grail Mecca plumping balm 3-in-1 primer. A moisturiser, Primer and mask all in one, then once that is all soaked into my skin I jump right in with my foundation, the Hourglass Vanish Stick foundation. Ughhhhhhhhhh there is just something about stick foundations that makes doing your makeup 300x more satisfying, but instead of drawing on my face like I normally would this time I am going to draw straight on to my beauty sponge and bounce it into my skin for a more natural (but still medium/full) coverage. Then to brighten my face I just put a little bit of concealer under my eyes and on my cupids bow.

Let’s Set.

Keeeeeeeping it super minimal, because your girl doesn’t really like too much powder on her face at the best of times, I’m just dusting my MAC Studio Fix powder all over and then warm up the tamples, cheek bones and my jaw with the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, because we want to not just look delicious, but smell and taste like ya man’s cocoa dreams too.

The eyes are the nipples of the face.

Possibly the most simple, minimal yet  g l a m o r o u s  eye look that only takes a few minutes to do, oh hell yes.
Firstly I just took my bronzer on a fluffy crease brush to define my eyelid, and then I take my STILA Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow liquid eyeshadow in diamond dust all over my lid. The STILA magnificent metals are phenominal and a total godsend for all of your christmas looks, this one in particular dries down to a simple silver glitter that isn’t too chunky or over the top looking.

Now to really finish the eyes, and make these nipples the most beautiful nipples anyone has ever seen, Just take your liquid liner – I’m using the Maybelline Hyper Sharp as always – and add a wing, coat your lashes with mascara and if you feeling a little extra chuck on a pair of fluffy lashes!

…I wasn’t kidding when I said that I wanted to sparkle like a bauble!

Mistletoe ready lips.

Kiss me underneath the mistletoe, show me baby that you love me so o o oooo o …. anyone? What a tune!
Okay, so i’m sure you can probably expect that my lips are going to match the clause uniform and be covered in red. Taking one of my fav red lips that I mentioned in my festive red lips post (here), the Too Faced liquid lipstick in Lady Balls over red lined lips for instant glamour.

Christmas Makeup

Until next time,
