The 4 Photo Editing Apps You Need

The 4 Photo Editing Apps You Need

Photo editing is one topic that can be quiet controversial – some people are for it and some people are totally against it – but I feel like it is fair to assume that most people have edited their photos at one point. I for one very openly admit that I edit my photos, not to the extent of making something look completely different but to enhance what is already there! You see, you don’t need fancy programs and hardcore computer editors at all, because now that smartphones have taken over the world you can use photo editing apps in the palm of your hand!

These are the four photo editing apps that I can’t live without and truly love to help take my pictures to the next level!

SNAPSEED

how much does it cost? FREE!
Apple or android? Available on both!
Skill level needed: Easy/medium

So this is an app that I have only just started using based off the recommendation of Alexandrea Garza in her Instagram tips and tricks YouTube video (watch here), but it has quickly become one of my can’t live without staples! Snapseed is a photo editing app made by google that allows you to edit your photos effortlessly.

My favourite element to this app is that you can use the brush tool to manipulate specific areas on the photo as opposed to the whole image as a lot of photo editing apps do. Maybe you want the crisp autumnal leaves on the group to pop or the smoothie in your hand to stand out, Snapseed allows you to do just that by using the brush tool you can add/decrease the exposure, temperature, saturation and much more easily.

BEAUTYPLUS – SNAP, EDIT, FILTER

how much does it cost? FREE!
Apple or android? Available on both!
Skill level needed: BEGINNER FRIENDLY!

This was probably the first ever photo editing app I downloaded.. In fact, I’m like 90% sure that it was. I really don’t use this app for anything other than the skin softening/blur section because the filters don’t really do anything for me, but the blur tool is so lovely because it doesn’t look overly fake like other photo editing apps such as Facetune do. So if you’re after an ‘un-touched touch up’ then this is going to be your best friend!

VSCO

how much does it cost? Free but certain filter packs cost money
Apple or android? Available on both!
Skill level needed: Beginner/Medium

One of the few photo editing apps that pretty much every instagramer, blogger and social media influencer has on their phone is VSCO, because it offers some of the most beautiful filters that no other apps do.

This is a free app however there are some in app purchases that you can make. I personally haven’t had the need to purchase any extra filter packs so you definitely do not need to, but do keep in mind that there are others available for a cost.
My favourite filters to use are the H series (HB 1 & HB2) along with C1 & A5!

UNUM

Apple or android? Available on both!
Skill level needed: Beginner friendly

If you love a beautiful and appealing instagram feed you need UNUM in your life asap.
This little guy is a recent addition once again thanks to Alexandrea Garza, that links up to your instagram to show you your existing feed, and then allows you to add photos prior to posting to instagram to see what it looks like!
This is fantastic for bloggers and instagram lovers to make sure that all of your pictures match your theme if you have one and/or flow nicely.

I only edit my blog photos using these apps on my iPhone, so you can definitely use these for uses other than instagram!
