Hi Pumpkins, I’m sure you will already know by now – unless you have been living under a rock – Fenty Beauty by Rihanna has officially dropped in stores and online and the beauty world has been left stunned.

When it comes to celebrity cosmetics I  must say that I generally don’t go in with a high expectation – I tend to assume that it will be a) cheaply made, b) way overpriced and c) poor to average quality – but not this time around. Even before it launched it has been very clear to see that this is a cosmetics line that has been very well thought out, made with effort and with diversity in line, which unfortunately isn’t the case for all brands.

Rihanna created Fenty Beauty “so that women everywhere would be included,” focusing on a wide range of skin tones, developing formulas for all skin types and pinpointing universal shades.

“Makeup is there for you to have fun. It should never feel like pressure. It should never feel like a uniform. Feel free to take chances, and take risks, and dare to do something new or different.” –Rihanna

So with all of the excitement buzzing and the range being launched yesterday I thought I would give you all a little round-up of what exactly has been released, where to buy and what to expect when it comes to finishes, price range and shades!

Side note: Fenty Beauty is 100% cruelty free.

Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer      $ 32 US – $ 46 AU

Described as “a shine-stopping, pore-diffusing primer that smooths the way for better foundation application and longer wear” Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r primer fills in your pores and leaves you with a soft matte finish.

To be totally honest with you, I am kind of glad that she has released matte finished products, whilst I love a nice luminous finish that is all makeup brands seem to be catering for of the late! So this was nice and different to what is out and on trend at the moment.

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation   $34 US – $50 AU

She wasn’t playing games when she said that this was created for diversity. 40 shades have been released with an assortment of cool, warm and different undertones to find a shade for everyone. So much respect for Fenty Beauty for doing something that all cosmetic brands should do but don’t.

Described as “giving your skin an instantly smooth, pore-diffused, shine-free finish that easily builds to your ideal coverage. The oil-free formula is made with climate-adaptive technology that’s resistant to sweat and humidity, and won’t clog pores so that wherever you are, it’s going to work on your skin.”

I have read a little further into this product and they made it very clear that you must moisturise before applying this foundation, especially if you have dry skin. So that could be something to note if you do suffer from dry skin, either be prepared to load up on moisturiser before hand or maybe skip this and wait until she released another formula and finish.

Match Stix (MATTE/SHIMMER)  $ 25US – $ 37AU

Sticks are back baaaby… well they never left really but the last 12 months has really seen brands come out with a lot more, and apparently Fenty Beauty is no exception.

These little magnetised sticks come in a 20 shade range of mattes, perfect for concealing and contouring, and 10 shades of incredible shimmer for blush, highlight and bronzer.
I will admit, some of them I can’t see myself purchasing such as confetti or unicorn because the shimmer purples just aren’t my style, but ‘Yacht Lyfe’, ‘Starstuck’ and ‘Trippin’ are calling out my name.

MATCH STICKS TRIO $54 us- $79au

These are the exact same deal as the Match Stix above, just they come in a trio for concealing, contouring and highlight! You can either choose from the four pre-selected bundles that cater for light, medium, tan and deep skin tones, or you can customize one and choose your own shades on the Fenty Beauty website.
It is slightly annoying that Sephora doesn’t give you the option to customise your shades but just know that you can if you go through the Fenty Beauty website for the same price.

KILlaWATT freestyle highlights (single & duo)   $34US – $50AU

YES, YES, YES and more YES!! These two toned pressed highlight powders offer one day time wearable highlight and one BLINDING highlight for nights out or the gal with extra flair. Described as “Weightless cream-powder hybrid highlighters that range from subtle daytime glow to insanely supercharged in expertly paired duo” they come in 4 different combinations, or you can choose from two stand alone Killawatt highlighters in the icy ‘Metal Moon’ shade or the blinding gold ‘Trophy Wife’ for the same price!

Described as being “THE stop-everything, give-it-to-me gloss that feels as good as it looks. Gloss Bomb delivers explosive shine in one perfect rose nude shade handpicked by Rihanna herself: Fenty Glow. We’re talking the unicorn of nudes that looks good on everyone.

One luscious swipe of Gloss Bomb’s XXL wand gives lips more to love, while conditioning shea butter enriches from within. Lips look instantly fuller and smoother, and though it’s super shiny, it feels amazing on your lips, with an addictive peach-vanilla scent you just can’t get enough of.”

Well, if that hasn’t sold you then I don’t know what will. This will definitely be the first thing I purchase from Fenty Beauty!

To be honest with you, when I saw that Fenty Beauty had released this I was a little taken back, not so much in a bad way, but just because it was so unexpected. I really don’t see a specific blotting product from a lot of brands, once again Rihanna is breaking the boundaries.

I feel like this could be awesome for touch ups or gals and guys that struggle with oil control throughout the day. I can’t see myself buying it personally but I feel like this is the type of product that quiet a few girls are going to be happy about. Once again, this is a universal shade and will work for any skin tone despite how white it looks.
